Photo Story

For this assignment, I had to create a photostory on a topic that I would be able to teach or train someone on. After many thoughts, I chose to do a lesson on the solar system. First, I had to create a PowerPoint making slides with text and photos. I then had to save the file "as another format" to turn it into slides. I downloaded photostory, and learned how to use it. I had to import the pictures from my slides, set the duration time, and narration. I created a youtube account to display my photostory publicly. This was all a new process for me. I have never used photostory or downloaded anything to youtube. This assignment wasn't hard, but extremely time consuming. This is a great way to incorporate interesting topics on lessons within the classroom. However, it won't be my first choice due to the time that goes into it. I spent over 12 hours on this assignment. I learned several new technological features and I did have fun with the assignment.

This assignment definitely fits with teaching standard function 4A for me. I have engaged in professional learning by creating a photostory which has enhanced my ability work in a global society and present material in my classroom. It also go with function 4D, in that I found new ways to incorporate technology to improve my teaching abilities and to improve the learning of my students within my classroom.
